Now let’s bring things up a level. As its name suggests a typical braid design hole, the 5 times open champion performed a redesign here in 1922 and no holes displays this more well than the second. An uphill mid length par 4 with an elevated green. The best approach here is a centre left tee shot. Any approach from the right hand side has the potential to run off the elevated green. Accuracy is paramount on the 2nd shot to this hole. Large mounds dot the fairway which add to the intrigue of a true links test and is the only hole on the course with no bunkers but a wonderful hole.
